percussionists. The Percussion Group Cincinnati celebrated their 30th
anniversary last year, Bill Platt recently retired after 40 years of
service to the Cincinnati Symphony, David Fishlock was appointed
Principal Percussion of the CSO, and the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps
turns 50 this year. The evening concert will feature the Percussion
Group Cincinnati and a combo comprised of Peter Erskine, Ricardo Flores,
and Rusty Burge. Also, Tom Kernan, a musicologist who has studied the
history of the Percussion Group Cincinnati, will offer a presentation on
the Group’s diverse repertoire and the members’ approach to
collaborating with composers. There will be an adjudicated rudimental snare competition and a mock audition. To
register for the mock audition or solo snare competition please contact
Jerry Noble (jernoble3@yahoo.com) as soon as possible to reserve your
place.
