Here is a special message from Jim Sewrey:
"I would like to express my sincere thanks to the WI-PAS Chapter Members for the plaque presentation that was made to me during the Saturday luncheon and again at the beginning of the DOP evening's concert program, Dr. Alison Shaw, host. For those not able to be in attendance, the inscription reads as follows.
PERCUSSIVE ARTS SOCIETY - Wisconsin Chapter Lifetime Achievement Award...On behalf of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society, the Lifetime Achievement Award is hereby presented to James A. Sewrey - This award is given in recognition of over fifty years of tireless service to the craft of percussion in the areas of performance, education, innovation, advocacy, and publication. James Sewrey is a founding member of the Percussive Arts Society, and is the individual who coined the name "Percussive Arts Society" in 1961. Presented at the 2012 Wisconsin PAS "Days of percussion" on January 21, 2012."
