Western Australia Day of Percussion 2012

The first International Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion in Perth was held on  September 23, 2012 and featured these fabulous sessions:

Ric Eastman - Professional Drumset Skills
Kuniko Kato (Japan) - History of the Marimba
Kuniko Kato - Multi Percussion
Garry Lee and Gary France - Jazz Vibes and Improvisation
Iain Robbie - PNG DrummingTim White, 
Alex Timcke and Tom O'Kelly (Qld)- Orchestral Percussion Discussion
Tetrafide Percussion performance
Joshua Webster - Introduction to the Hungarian Cimbalom
Louise Devenish - Rhythm Workshop
Villanova College Percussion Ensemble with Gordon Hughes
Eastern Hills Senior High School Percussion Ensemble with Maurice Bourgault
with a trade display by 
Just Percussion  
Our first W.A.  PAS Eisteddfod, was also held on September 22.
There were  door prizes and eisteddfod prizes, generously donated by Just Percussion and Optimum Percussion. 
This  wonderful day included percussionists of all ages with  multiple interactive performance sessions with local, national and international artists as well as opportunities to meet and speak with players and teachers of numerous percussion disciplines.  The WA DOP was a great opportunity to bring together all facets of the Perth percussion community.
Special thanks to Louise Devenish, Tim White and the WA team for producing a fantastic event!

WA Day of Percussion Registration fees: 
PAS Members:  $10
Non-Members:  $30 + 1-year e-membership:  $35 (does not include registration for the DoP)1-year e-membership with DoP registration:  $45
Eisteddfod Entry is free with your DoP registration.  (You do not have to be a PAS member to participate)

For parents of students performing on day or in eisteddfod
Parents of members:  suggested gold coin donation
Parents of non-members:  $10

PAS Australia Chapter NSW Day of Percussion 2012 
was an exciting day of activities attended by over 120 percussion students, educators, professionals and aficionados. Headlining the 2012 DOP were Sydney Symphony Percussionists (Richard Miller, Rebecca Lagos, Colin Piper, Mark Robinson), David Clarence, Gordon Rytmeister, Jess Ciampa, Claudia Chambers, Iain Scotland, and the Daryl Pratt Sextet! 

Hosted by the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Open Academy, this event was held in the beautiful facilities at the Sydney Conservatorium. Optimum Percussion and Just Percussion were on hand with  trade displays and there were lots of prizes and give aways!

Victoria Day of Percussion 2012
This was a great event featuring a huge variety of Percussion activities for percussion performers, educators and aficionados.
Special thanks and recognition must be given to Sergei Golovko, our Victoria representative, and Peter Neville our host at University of Melbourne whose hard work and dedication laid he foundation for this terrific "All Things Percussion" event.
