The Department of Music at East Tennessee State University seeks applications for the position of Marching Percussion Instructor for the ETSU Marching Bucs. This is a twelve-month full-time Lecturer Position. In fall 2015, ETSU is restarting its Marching Band after a twelve-year absence.
The position will begin July 1, 2015
Responsibilities include teaching, administering, writing/arranging and recruiting for the ETSU Drumline; attending band camp in August; attending all rehearsals and performances throughout the year; implementing, organizing, attending, and administering a high school percussion camp starting in Summer 2016; overseeing the equipment inventory and maintenance process throughout the year; assisting with recruiting efforts; co-directing the basketball pep bands.
Depending on the candidate's interests and qualifications, he or she might teach such additional courses as Percussion Methods for Instrumental Music Majors; Applied Percussion Lessons; World Music Ensemble (create and direct).
Qualifications: Minimum of a Master's degree in Percussion Performance or Music Education; significant experience in writing/arranging for and teaching of percussion.
