    Job Responsibilities

     Classified Position considered a Performing Arts "Instructional Aid" by the school system

     This position works closely with the two band directors yet the percussion director is given the freedom to make the percussion program their own

     Teach percussionist from 4 concert bands at Lawrence North High School

     Teach 7th-8th grade percussion students at Fall Creek Valley Middle School twice per week

     Teach Jazz Band Rhythm sectionals (as needed)

     Prepare students for Spring percussion ensemble concert

     Prepare students for Solo and Ensemble, All State Percussion auditions etc.

     Marching Band Co-Percussion Director (may hire additional staff)

     Winter Percussion Director (You have full control of the design team, staff and budget)

     Teach 7th-8th grade percussion students at Fall Creek Valley Middle School twice per week

     Teach Jazz Band Rhythm sectionals (as needed)

     Maintain Percussion equipment inventory

     Percussion recruitment

    Pay/Benefits

     MSDLT Hourly Rate $25.92 per hour / 35 Hours per week/37-week school year ($33,566.00)

     Summer Marching Band Pay from Band Boosters $2000 depending on schedule

     An additional $8000-15000 (or more) if you teach privately

     Winter Percussion: stipend and design $3,900 and up depending on how much you design

     MSDLT contributes 2% of your check to a retirement fund that they pay out of their pocket

     Retirement: Vested in Indiana State Pension after 10 years

     Insurance – provided by MSDLT (Vision, Dental and Medical)

    Desired Qualifications

     A Bachelor's degree in Music Education and or Percussion Performance (required)

     Experience teaching high school age students with a record of success

     Past experience working with a winter percussion ensemble with a record of success (Strongly preferred)

     Energetic personality with desire to teach music to all types and levels of studentsApplication Instructions
