2018 Utah PAS Day of Percussion
The 2018 Day of Percussion was held on Saturday, March 17 at Juan Diego Catholic High School. The event featured a solo/ensemble festival with 216 soloists competing in 16 different categories, and 121 ensembles competing in nine categories. Showcased at the event were guest artists and clinicians Mark Ford, Marcus Santos
and Larnell Lewis. Also featured during a special lunchtime showcase concert featuring the percussion ensembles from the
University of Utah, Utah State University and Utah Valley University. Attendees also enjoyed additional special performances by 2017 State Champions Woods Cross High School (4A division champion) and American Fork High School (5A Division champion), Weber State Indoor Percussion and winners of various solo events from the 2018 event.

2017 Utah PAS Fall Day of Percussion
The 2017 Fall Day of Percussion was held on October 28, 2017 in conjunction with the Mt. Timpanogos Marching Band Competition at Pleasant Grove HS. The day featured guest clinician Mike McIntosh. The 2017 event was just the third Utah PAS Fall Day of Percussion; this year featuring nine drum lines in three divisions. During each ensemble's performance, Mr. McIntosh and other local professionals provided taped comments for each line. These comments were e-mailed out at the conclusion of the event to help the ensemble prepare for the last two weeks of marching season. Preparations are in place for the 2018 Fall Day of Percussion. 2017 Utah PAS Day of Percussion
The annual Utah PAS Day of Percussion was held on March 18, 2017 at Juan Diego Catholic High School. Throughout the day, attendees were treated to performances, clinics, terrace concerts and the nation's largest DOP Solo & Ensemble Competition. The DOP featured showcase performances by the Westlake High School Percussion Ensemble, the Park City High School Percussion Studio, and the Farmington Junior High Advanced Percussion Ensemble (all 2016 Large Ensemble State Champions). In addition, FREE clinics were offered by world-renowned percussionists: Pius Cheung, Paul Rennick, and Kobie Watkins. Other events included terrace performances by the Oak Canyon JHS Taiko Ensemble and by Impact Winter Percussion. The day concluded with a Winner's Concert that featured five state champions from various solo categories. Awards were presented to the top three winners in 23 different competitions. The 2016 Fall Day of Percussion was held on October 15, 2016 in conjunction with the Mt. Timpanogos Marching Band Competition at Pleasant Grove HS. The day featured guest clinician Bret Kuhn. The 2016 event was just the second Utah PAS Fall Day of Percussion; this year featuring 11 drum lines in three divisions. During each ensemble's performance, Bret Kuhn and other local professionals provided taped comments for each line. These comments were e-mailed out at the conclusion of the event to help the ensemble prepare for the last two weeks of marching season. Preparations are in place for the 2017 Fall Day of Percussion. 2016 Utah PAS Day of Percussion
The 2016 Utah Percussive Arts Society (PAS) Day of Percussion was held on March 19 at Juan Diego Catholic High School. The day featured clinics and showcase concerts from Caixa Trio and Ndugu Chancler, Utah State University, Utah Valley University, the University of Utah, American Fork High School, American Fork Junior High School, Intermountain Percussion Association, Gamelan Madu Kencana and Samba Fogo. In addition, students from around the state competed in a Solo/Ensemble competition with more than 300 entries. At the conclusion of the day, more than 700 attendees gathered in the Auditorium to recognize the 2016 State Champions in various Solo/Ensemble categories, and heard performances from the winners in various categories, as well as a guest performance by the Honors Youth Percussion Ensemble.
Congratulations to everyone who attended the most comprehensive percussion education experience in the state of Utah, the annual Day of Percussion!
2015 Utah PAS Fall Day of Percussion
The Percussive Arts Society (PAS) of Utah's inaugural Fall Day of Percussion was held on Saturday, October 24 at Pleasant Grove High School in conjunction with the Mt. Timpanogos marching band competition. The event featured eleven drum lines in two divisions. Every drum line performed for a panel of adjudicators who provided recorded comments for the battery and front ensemble. After each performance, DOP Clinician Matt Savage provided a clinic to the percussion section. At the conclusion of the day, Matt Savage offered a clinic for all attendees entitled "Secrets to playing in Time", and awards were presented in both divisions.

2014 CHAPTER OF THE YEAR
The Utah Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society, its’ leadership and members have been responsible for a remarkable renaissance in the percussive arts through performance and performance at all levels throughout the state of Utah. Each year, the chapter publishes multiple newsletters and articles focused on percussive-related topics for the working percussionists, non-percussionists educators, percussion enthusiasts and of course, students at every level of experience. We are also proud to host annually both a Fall and Spring “Utah PAS Day of Percussion”. rs.
